Our mission
We make software that steers energy devices like heat pumps, electric vehicles, and batteries to generate new revenue streams for utilities, cut consumer electricity costs, and reduce CO2 emissions.
Our goal is to enable the orchestration of the world’s largest device fleet using software automation, machine learning forecasts, and trading algorithms to shift energy usage to the most cost-effective and sustainable time periods. Our software empowers the world’s utilities to help every household become part of the green energy transition.

Chris Bernkopf, Co-founder and CEO
Chris is a serial founder and engineer who previously built Alpas (YCombinator W21), a software company that helps companies like BASF, ABB, and SBB source mechanical parts faster and cheaper. His background is in physics and data science (CERN), as well as in sales and software engineering for the educational AI and electric mobility spaces.

Moritz Schrader, Co-founder and Head of Data & Integrations
Moritz is a software and hardware expert who has won international patents with IoT in vehicles through his career at Continental and through building autonomous driving software for Volkswagen/Cariad, which is now found across millions of vehicles. His educational background in mechatronics and automotive engineering shapes the applications of Podero today.

Sebastian Magri, Head of Engineering
Sebastian is an experienced software engineer leading technology and development teams for multiple startups. He began his career writing software to control oil wells worth billions of dollars, using similar technology seen in Podero. He is one of the founding contributors to the programming language Rust and an advisor to several data and machine learning startups.
