“Our partnership with Podero reflects Daikin’s commitment to smart, sustainable living. By opening our Onecta Cloud API, we enable energy integrators to dynamically optimise consumption based on grid conditions, in turn helping end users reduce costs and lower CO₂ emissions by shifting usage to cleaner, cheaper energy periods.”, says Takayuki Kamekawa, Vice-President Sales DX, Heating and Ventilation at Daikin Europe.
The Podero integration was kicked off via Daikin’s sandbox environment, which made development very straightforward. Both partners extensively reviewed the integration to ensure a robust solution. Once live, Podero onboarded the first 12 devices on the very first day.
Progress towards the optimized, connected home
Daikin joins other leading manufacturers on the Podero platform, from EV and inverter partners, to heat pumps and solar. Alongside Podero’s steering and trading capabilities, this means utilities can unlock smarter, cleaner lower cost energy use for even more of their customers.
“It is a pleasure working closely with Diakin’s Control System Group team,” says Louis Jabbour, Head of Partnerships at Podero. “They have developed a deep understanding of our platform and are highly motivated to accelerate the electrification of heating through connected services like Podero, which reduce operating expenses and turn air-to-water heat pumps into valuable flexibility assets.”
Daikin is a market leader in heating and cooling technologies, dedicated to product design that reduces environmental impact. And despite over 100 years’ experience, they’re very much still innovating.
Active collaboration
Daikin is committed to finding strong partnerships that can help it prepare for the future of energy management right across Europe.
