August brought two practical improvements for utilities using Podero: live savings analytics in the Podero Console and expanded smart-charging support for customers who connect a compatible wallbox without a separate vehicle integration.

Together, these updates give utilities better visibility into portfolio performance while opening smart charging to more households and vehicle combinations.

Live savings analytics in the Podero Console

All Podero utility clients can now analyze live savings data directly in the Podero Console.

The Savings performance view brings together key savings indicators, daily trends and breakdowns by device type and individual device. Utility teams can identify their strongest-performing devices, investigate lower-performing parts of the fleet and export the data as a CSV for further reporting.

Because the analytics use the same live data as the fleet overview, savings figures remain consistent across the Console. This gives partners a single place to monitor performance rather than relying on separate reports or manually combining data from different sources.

For utilities, the practical benefit is clearer evidence of the value created through optimisation—both across the complete portfolio and at device level.

Spot and solar-surplus charging without a separate EV integration

Podero now also supports spot-price and solar-surplus charging through compatible wallboxes without requiring the vehicle itself to have a supported digital integration.

Previously, smart charging often depended on Podero being able to connect to both the wallbox and a compatible vehicle. With wallbox-only control, Podero can steer charging directly through the charger instead.

For spot-price optimization, charging can be planned around lower-priced periods. In homes with solar generation, Podero can also adapt charging to available solar surplus, helping households use more of their own renewable electricity.

This expands the number of households that utilities can include in a smart-charging proposition. Customers can benefit even when their vehicle does not offer a compatible API, as long as their wallbox and energy setup are supported.

For utilities, this reduces dependence on individual vehicle integrations and creates a more scalable path for offering smart charging across a diverse customer fleet.
