Vienna, May 2026. Podero, the Vienna-based grid flexibility software helping utilities trade the value locked in their customers’ devices, and Hoymiles, a global leader in residential energy storage and solar solutions, today announced a strategic partnership to connect Hoymiles’ HiOne battery systems to the Podero platform in the Austrian market.
The partnership marks a significant step forward in the evolution of home energy management. Where batteries have traditionally acted as passive backup tools, the integration with Podero allows Hoymiles devices to respond automatically to dynamic and negative electricity prices, maximize solar self-consumption, and coordinate with other connected appliances, including EV chargers and heat pumps, in a single, unified system.
For homeowners with Hoymiles hardware, this means their energy setup can now operate autonomously in response to real-time market signals. The Podero platform, which already supports a wide range of inverters, heat pumps, and EV chargers from partners, handles the complexity of energy scheduling, weather-adjusted forecasting, and market trading, allowing households to reduce electricity costs without manual intervention.
The integration was built via Hoymiles’ S-Miles Cloud API and follows Podero’s standard onboarding process, which the Hoymiles team navigated with exceptional speed. Technical matching and API integration proceeded smoothly, a reflection of both teams’ shared focus on operational efficiency.
“As dynamic pricing and VPPs become the new normal in Europe, our joint solution will empower more Austrian families to not only slash their energy bills but also actively stabilise the grid. Together, we are laying the groundwork for the intelligent, decentralised energy network of tomorrow.”
— Dr Rex Zhu, General Manager of Residential ESS BU, Hoymiles
The partnership aligns directly with Hoymiles’ strategic ambition to evolve its storage products from standalone devices into an AI-driven energy brain for the whole home. By connecting to Podero’s platform – which can orchestrate a broad ecosystem of devices beyond the battery alone – Hoymiles accelerates its expansion in Austria and delivers on its core mission of enabling greener, more cost-effective energy use for homeowners.
From Podero’s perspective, Hoymiles adds a high-quality hardware partner to a growing portfolio of integrated manufacturers, strengthening the platform’s ability to offer utilities a diverse and capable fleet of flexible assets. Louis Jabbour, Head of Partnerships at Podero, welcomed the collaboration: the combination of Hoymiles’ hardware architecture and Podero’s specialized software capabilities creates a strong foundation for scaling residential flexibility across the Austrian market.
The Hoymiles integration is now live on the Podero platform and available for onboarding within the standard partner flow.
